| Any advantage of the JBV over the BV other than the obvious, as the price seems to be disproportionate. Are the location of the JBV much better? Are the villas in the main picture on this site. (Look above) BV or JBV? Really would like to try Komandoo for a week if I can get a good deal. Thanks people. | |

Thanks people. Billy Obvoiusly the accomodation in the front of the picture are the water villas. To the right is sun rise side and the left sunset side. I stand to be corrected here, but I think the east side (right in the picture) has a higher proportion of JBV than the west side. So my point is, do you want early sunrise on the patio or sunset? Our first trip was in the standard BV and I had no problems with it at all, but it was on the sunset side. Which has the less attractive outlook to be honest. There is a 'Local working Island' about 2 miles away, no problem, just not as nice an outlook. We are early birds and sitting on the decking with a coffee at about 6.30am was great on sunrise side. All rooms are great, just try to get sunrise or sunset side as you prefer. You pick if you want JBV or not Richard

What numbers are the BV now anyone? Billy Yes my quote on the front of the picture was obvious! Coral are BV 46-50. I know some (may be all of Starfish are as well) 1-6. But if there are others scattered around I cant remember, I never turned into a peeping tom whilst I was there Richard

Richard Thanks again. Don’t know Tom, is he a member of the forum? I asked because on many islands the different accommodation is in blocks or areas. They rarely mix them. I suppose a decent map with them marked, would be making things too easy. lol

Mercuri I would say that you just need to ask (they won't guarantee) your preference for sunrise or sunset side. If your up early, it's nice to sit with your morning coffee watching the sun come up. If you prefer a later start it's equally as nice to sit with a beer from the mini bar watching the sunset, as you wait for the lady to get ready Richard

Ok I will get off the fence! You have all forced me out Our first trip was to a BV room, Coral 2, I think, 49 on the map anyway. Great room, but no sunrise to view with my coffee in the morning. We then returned to have Dolphin 5 JBV, heaven of a room. Sunrise to watch coming up, just tip into the water when you need. But the sun goes from there about 5pm. The villas on sunrise side near the Reception area have a larger strech of beach to the water. Oh listen to me, 20 metres to the water! What a drag So our next two trips we asked for Dolphin 5 and were lucky enough to get it. That means that no one else is now allowed to ask for it OK JBV just have an extended space in the bathroom over BV. The rest is identical I think. So do you want a jaccuzzi or not, thats the question. Mind it is nice to get all bubbled up whilst she brings you beer Richard

| While we're at it, are there any Water Villas that are better (or worse) than others? I'd rather not face that other island if it can be helped... | |

I don't know how the number system works for these villas I'm affraid. But the decking on these villas has a screen on both sides. If you look at the 'header picture' above. I would think that perhaps the three villas on the left may have a sight of the opposite Islandfrom the decking. The Island would be visable on the walk way in/out to the villas. It's no big issue, the Island is there, it's a working Island but not an eyesore. Richard

| We just came back and had Manta 3 - all the six Manta JBVs have perfect beach in front that is about 3 metres to the sea when the tid is in and 5 metres when it's out Next time we will go for a BV as the extra money for a JBV was not worth it for us. | |

| Hi Mercuri if I were you I would just ask for a dolphin villa because are limiting your choice and if a repeat guest has asked for Dolphin 5 they are going to be given preference over you.BOB.G | |

| I think my personal preference for a room is being used as 'Richard states Dolphin 5 is the best room on the Island' People kept asking what rooms are the best? All along I stated 'You need to choose if you want early morning sun or late afternoon sun' It's as simple as that, all the rooms are equally fitted out. JBV just have an extended bathroom.
After a number of posts I said 'I like Dolphin 5' True, its sunrise side, its roughly half way down the Island which means its a short walk to reception, bar etc. But just far enough away that if there is a function in the bar and you want an early night you don't hear it. So it suits Jan and I, other people will tell you another room is better and I wouldn't disagree with them. We all have our own preferences.

| i think the most apt question is not which villa is the best, but which is the worst (if there is indeed any). i've just gotten back from a trip to bali and have been staying in a single bedded villa with pool. It's expensive and everything is good until being awoken at 7am in the morning. The said villa is right next to the staff room and as such we can hear the din. Not a very good villa to laze and spend a honeymoon. | |

| as it is, being an Island I am sure there are power generators to power the whole resort. I reckon this must be a infantile question but is the generator near to any units?
I mean I wont want to be staying next to a generator with it's noise and fumes. Which is why I think prior understanding of the location of the Villas are important, I have booked a JBV and from some input, dolphin 5 would be great?

No Mercuri you're not allowed to use Dolphin 5, thats my room What ever room you get the generator will not be an issue for either noise or fumes. Richard
