| hi peeps, as we are late risers my Mrs and I have sort of decided on the sunset side for JBV. I understand that there is a non working island/ deserted island that is on the sun set side of the island. I wonder if there is any JBVs that doesn't face this island and if there is which is it? I will have to email them and request for the villa in a week or two. I am so excited as I will be off to Paradise in a little over 3 weeks. | |

If your room is on the sun set side you will see the Island no matter what Villa. I think to many people see this as an issue though. Yes its there, but in no way would it spoil your stay. You can see it from the resturant as well. As others have stated in fact to occasionally hear the 'call to pray' if the wind is right, from the minaret adds to the experience. Just enjoy your stay and be sure to post a trip report

| Hi Richard,
thanks for the reply,... I will definitely write a report and hopefully post up some pics of "Paradise". Eagerly awaiting.
What call to prayers? U mean the 5 times a day call for Azan by the Moslems?

| Hi Richard, sorry for the long absence and the lack of a report. I have been busy lately. Anyway here comes the report. We landed in Male at close to midnight and waited in the airport until the transmaldivian counter opened. there was plenty of people, some opted like us not to spend a nite in Hulhulle Hotel. At 9am, the counter for transmaldivian opened and it was a breeze checking in and then we were transferred to the sea plane terminal. transfer from Male to Komandoo was the most exhilarating experience that we had, the view was stupendous and not to mention breathtaking. The noise not withstanding, each and every island looks like jewels in from the plane. when we reach Komandoo, it is the most beautiful island we've ever seen, more than we have expected. We are greeted by the resort Manager, Natalie as well as the local Maldivian hospitality with singing and music. We were all given a welcome drink. | |

| view of Komandoo from the dhoni.. view of the beach from the reception office.. The welcomed was fantastic and we were ushered into our JBV. One thing about the aircond though, it was pretty hot even with full blast of the aircond. The weather was fantastic and the water crystal clear. We didn't have a problem with washed up rubbish the whole week we were there and I reckon for a place to spend our honeymoon it was close to perfection. the complimentary fruit basket and champagne with the honeymoon teeshirt foc from Komandoo resort. We had the obligatory welcome massage in the Duniye Spa and I opted out of it. As far as I am concerned, the workers in the spa needs some more training, i find them lack the neccesary people skills. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The breakfast was very good, but it sort of gets tiring and monotonous after the first few days. They seem to serve the same fare all the day everyday. | |

| We went for the free sunset cruise and we even managed to catch a glimpse of dolphins. It was all good as it was free and it was worth it's while. we tried booking the Britt but unfortunately it was canceled due to lack of a minimum passengers. We even tried booking the Muna cruise and that got canceled due to choppy and bad weather. The deserted island was so so, but remember to bring loads and loads of mozzie repellent. | |

| Mercuri Well it was like waiting for a lady to get ready for a night out the time it took for the trip report But I must say the time and effort you took with all the photos was great. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. I think you will agree that it takes a lot of beating as a place to visit. Richard | |

| hi richard, hehe, it was a great trip and we are already planning to revisit Komandoo for our next holiday, tentatively end on November. Perhaps we could get our '2 times in Komandoo' teeshirts? Oh btw, we were upgraded free of charge into watervilla and it was perfect. Will upload pics later. | |
