Transfer to the island

How is the transfer to Komandoo ? is it via boat or sea plane

Via Sea plane, it takes around forty minutes.......
Make sure you have your camera to hand before you board as sometimes they ask to take your hand luggage from you to stow at the back of the plane.

They have recently changed companies from Maldivian air taxi (red & white) to Trans maldivian, the yellow & blue ones.

If you would like some great photo's of Komandoo from the air, let the pilots know before hand and they will usually do a fly by for you.

Sorry for what may seem simple questions but i am scared of flying, it has taken my husband sveral years of nagging to get me onto a big plane and 10+ hrs flying.

How big is the sea plane

How man passengers

Is it very noisy

Adele, Hi,
I like you wasn't (still isn't) a fan of flying but its a means to an end as they say however I have to say I feel a lot happier in the sea plane!
I bet your thinking why? well it can fly on just one engine if need be & it has two huge floats instead of wheels so it can land almost anywhere in the Maldives!

The Plane is small, not as small as one of those private cessna one prop planes, and it carries upto 16 passengers, two pilots & one crew.

It is fairly noisy however you can take ear plugs from the terminal! its very exciting, please go with a possitive attitude, you are going to see the most beautiful views of the atolls & islands! its truly wonderful, I promise!

Please sit back and enjoy the wonders you will see from the seaplane. As stated its noisy, but must add also it can be hot.

Enjoy 40 mins of the atolls as you fly over them. Forget the noise and heat and take lots of pictures, you will love it.

It was the confined space, heat and noise that put me off, but it is only for a short time.

Having watched loads of video clips on you tube Yes it makes a lot of noise, but the view more than makes up for it
